Case and I (his Mom, Teresa) are training for the Bolder Boulder. This is a 6.2 mile run on Memorial Day, May 31st. Case was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes seven years ago when he was three years old. We have found the more he exercises, the better his blood sugars are. With this blog, and the donations to a non-profit diabetes organization, and inspiring messages from you, we hope to motivate him to reach this goal of training and completing the Bolder Boulder.
The Photographs on this site come from the photographic work I am doing to educate on Type 1 Diabetes. The photographs can be viewed at “A Lifetime of Diabetes“.

What a great goal, Case! Keep training hard…the finish line will be worth it. I’ll keep following you and your mom’s progress and will be rooting for you!
I run, workout, and hike in my 5 fingers. Found them through members of crossfitsouthwest.com. Many crossfitters consume a paleo diet, I am going to try it out this month, it is supposedly helpful for people with diabetes. Wishing you all the best on May 31st.
Man! You’re almost half way to your goal already! Great job!
Case, I’m 19 and I’ve been running for 5 years. It’s really hard to be motivated sometimes, especially when you run by yourself or the weather is nasty. You’re lucky to have a supportive mom and I’m cheering you on. Also, I bought Fivefingers recently and not only do they make me feel pretty cool when I wear them, but they make me feel more natural. I wish you all the best. Keep it up!
